The poetics of this artist work around the theme of the body as a measuring unit of our surrounding space. She takes a series of self-timed photographs and self-portraits and produces a black version of the silhouette figure, thus representing the subject in detail and uniqueness, but without a descriptive component to it.
These silhouettes are a product of the self-timed photographs.
Also the children at Dynamo began their work from a photo, these were in the form of both individual and group selfies. From these pictures, theytraced the shape of their figure, either in black and white or in colour, like their own shadow.
Donatella often uses wall papers as a background for her collages. The children had the possibility to choose the wall paper they preferred, varying from the typical eighties style wall paper with iconic daisies and roses, to the colourful, pop papers that cover the wallsof the trendiestspots and places; they then placed their traced silhouetteson the wall papers to create elegant works that tell a story about the playful and fun moments spent together.
