The world that I desire
with Christian Balzano
Christian Balzano, dressed as a pirate cartographer, led the children in the creation of some quite special Treasury maps. On canvases depicting the six continents, each child represented his greatest treasure: the family, the friends of the Camp, their pet or favorite game with drawings, writings or engravings.
The intertwining and overlapping of their signs formed real mysterious routes to decipher and discover in every detail.
Each child then cut out silhouettes of islands and continents known or invented, pasting them on small scrolls to create new individual geographies.
These paper fragments have been transformed by Christian into the crystals of a precious lamp and into morphologies of the continents of a giant golden globe that bears the mark of each of them.
