Born in1970, lives and works in Milan.
Through the use of video and photography she works on landscapes intended as spaces for nature and as a historical stage of events, culture and human traditions. Sara alternates her lyrical gaze mindful of the fleeting quality of light and color with meticulous research into the fragments left by time in different places. With this she reconstructs true stories through images: narratives which somehow relate to us, that we recognise and are familiar with; memories which form part of the collective cultural imagination (Gaia Pasi, 2010).
In 2002 she won the Premio New York, at the Italian Academy of Columbia University in New York. In 2003 she was the winner of the People’s Choice Prize at the Premio Giovane Arte Italiana DARC-MAXXI at the Venice Biennale in 2003. Since 1995 she has exhibited using video, photography and installations in a number of Italian and Foreign galleries and museums such as: la Triennale in Milan, Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Roma, la Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa in Venice, la Fondazione Pistoletto in Biella, Museion in Bolzano, il Palazzo delle Papesse in Siena, la Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Turin, la Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin, the 7th Biennale in Lyon, il MAMbo in Bologna, Manifesta 7 in Bolzano, il MACRO in Roma, la 4th Biennale in Praga, la Galleria Comunale d’Arte Contemporanea in Monfalcone, il Museo MART in Rovereto, il Museo Pecci in Prat and Milan.
