Filippo Riniolo was born in Milan in 1986 and lives in Rome where he was awarded his university degree in 2011 at the Accademia di Belle Arti. His Thesis was on the impact of “the financializing of the modern art system.” His research spanned from poetic to political, social, historical and current events. The realm of his interests include the relationship between body and power, queer studies, gender studies and post colonial studies. His research tools include photography, installations, performance and sound and video.
He has participated solo to many exhibitions; notably: “A jouful sense at work” for the Salone del Mobile (Milan), “Invisible hand” at MauMau (Istanbul, Turkey), which ended up in the artist’s residence there, his work “Lifelong Learning” at the Museum CIAC (Genazzano) in 2012, curated by Claudio Libero Pisano, and ”His Presence” at Sponge arte contemporanea (Pergola) in 2014 curated by Fabrizio Pizzuto.
His participation to collective exhibits include: “Excercise of vision”, Bienal del Fin del Mundo, (Mar del Plata, Argentina), BIO50 }Hotel, 24° Biennale del Design, (Ljubljana, Slovenia) and Seminar dreams on earth, (Maranola, Italia) in 2014. ”Action ! second,” The Others Art Fair (Torino), ”That’s the way things go” ArtVerona (Verona) in 2014 and ”Intellego” at the Bilotti Museum (Rome) in 2013 and Open4 at the SaleDock (Venice) and Premio Roma Centro Storico (Rome) in 2012.
