Donatella Spaziani was born in Ceprano (Italy) in 1970. She graduated in painting in 1993 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, the city where she still lives and works.
In 2001 she won a scholarship to the Omi International Artists Residency in New York. In 2003 she was living in the Centre International des Recollettes for Dena Foundation in Paris and the same year he won the scholarship “La Seine”, the research program for the visual arts, at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris. Between 2005 and 2006, she was in Paris, as a resident artist in the lnternationale Cité des Arts.
In 2008 she took part in the nineteenth Quadrennial at Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome, and in 2010 at the Expo Shanghai World Expo, as part of the exhibition “Squares of Rome”, curated by Achille Bonito Oliva. In 2011 she took part in the New York exhibition “ltalian Artists in New York”, for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, with the patronage of the President of the ltalian Republic and even in Moscow, at the National Centre for Contemporary Arts, with the exhibition “Italian Art to listen” by RAM radioartemobile. In 2013 she took part in the exhibition “In the water I understand”, curated by Claudio Libero Pisano, an event related to the 55th Venice Biennale. From 2001 to 2015 she has had solo exhibitions and permanent works in museums and private spaces in Milan, Turin, Rome, L’Aquila, Naples, Paris, Geneva, Zagreb, Osijek, Moscow, New York, Gent, Ljubljana, Linz and Strasbourg.
Currently one of her works, including the art collection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, is shown in a series of exhibitions in major European capitals.
